About: He has led virtually every major North American and European orchestra and over 270 performances at the Metropolitan Opera. He is now Artistic Advisor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and has been Principal Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of the RAI in Torino (2016-20), Music Director of the Ravinia Festival (2005-15), Principal Conductor of the Paris National Opera (1995-2004), General Music Director of the City of Cologne (1989-2002), Music Director of the Rotterdam Philharmonic (1983-91) and Music Director of the Cincinnati May Festival (1979-2016). He has won three Grammys and he was awarded France’s Légion d’Honneur.

About: Sir David McVicar trained as an actor at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland). He was knighted in 2012 for his services to opera and made Chevalier de L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government. His productions are seen annually in major houses worldwide, with recent highlights including new productions of Adriana Lecouvreur and Roberto Devereux at the Metropolitan Opera, Médée at Geneva’s Grand Théâtre and Verdi’s I Masnadieri at La Scala. Other recent productions include Norma and Fedora at the Met, Don Giovanni at Opera Australia, The Magic Flute at Covent Garden, Il Trittico at Welsh National Opera, Don Carlos at Lyric Opera of Chicago, Ariodante at the Israeli Opera and Falstaff at Santa Fe Opera.

About: After studying dance and dramatic art in New York and at the École Jacques Lecocq in Paris, Leah Hausman has pursued a career as a choreographer, movement instructor and associate director in both the U.S. and Europe. She has collaborated on numerous productions including The Damnation of Faust (English National Opera, Palermo’s Teatro Massimo, Berlin State Opera), Falstaff (Vienna State Opera), Giovanna d’Arco, Les Troyens (La Scala), Les Troyens, Aida, The Magic Flute, Il Turco in Italia, Rigoletto (Covent Garden), Norma, Tosca, Roberto Devereux, Maria Stuarda, Il Trovatore (Metropolitan Opera), Billy Budd, Rusalka, Il Trovatore (Lyric Opera of Chicago) and Don Giovanni, Il Trovatore, Lohengrin, Les Troyens (San Francisco Opera). She has also worked on the stages of the Old Vic, the Royal Shakespeare Company, London’s National Theatre and Complicité Theatre Company and Chicago’s Goodman Theatre.

About: The Olivier, Tony and Obie Award-winning designer Rae Smith works regularly in a wide variety of styles and genres. Her designs are frequently seen in Britain in the West End and at the National Theatre, as well as in the United States, Europe, Japan and on international tours. Her many designs include War Horse, for which she won Tony, Olivier and Evening Standard Best Design Awards; it was presented on the West End and on Broadway and toured internationally. Her work in opera includes Benvenuto Cellini for English National Opera, Wagner’s Ring cycle for Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg, Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci at the Metropolitan Opera, A Little Night Music at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris; Rusalka at the Glyndebourne Festival, A Midsummer Night’s Dream at La Monnaie in Brussels, Don Giovanni at Welsh National Opera and The Magic Flute at Scottish Opera.

LA Opera: He became Chorus Director last year, after working on over 75 productions as associate chorus director and/or assistant conductor. He previously prepared the chorus for the Plácido Domingo 50th Anniversary Concert (2017) and The Clemency of Titus (2019). He is a coach for the Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program.
About: He has collaborated with major opera houses throughout the United States and has prepared operas and vocal chamber music at the LA Philharmonic. As a pianist, he has partnered with Sondra Radvanovsky, Eric Owens, Brandon Jovanovich, J’nai Bridges, Dolora Zajick, Kate Lindsey and Susan Graham. He helped prepare Seattle Opera’s Ring cycle in 2013. He has been a guest faculty member for young artist programs at Utah Opera and Seattle Opera, and he is a part-time lecturer in vocal arts and opera at the University of Southern California.
