About:
He has performed with major opera houses across the globe including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Metropolitan Opera, Vienna State Opera, Opéra National de Paris and his home company, the Bolshoi in Moscow. Last season, he made his role debut as Simon Boccanegra at the Parma Verdi Festival, followed by his first Iago at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples. He also returned to the Metropolitan Opera as Eugene Onegin. Earlier this season, he made his debut at Lyric Opera of Chicago as Rodrigue in Don Carlos (his 2020 debut role at the Vienna State Opera). He then returned to the Bavarian State Opera in Munich in a new production of Verdi’s I Masnadieri and to Opernhaus Zürich as Eugene Onegin. Future engagements include Don Carlo in Ernani at the Bregenz Festival and Don Carlo in La Forza del Destino at Covent Garden and the Metropolitan Opera.

This summer, he will return to the Des Moines Metro Opera as Dancaïro in Carmen. He is a former Apprentice Artist with the Des Moines Metro Opera, appearing there in Gregory Spears’ Fellow Travelers and in The Queen of Spades, and he performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges.
